Wild Wild Sourdough Child Anna

Anna Kaigle here, I am a seventeen year old in Milton, Vermont with a passion for sourdough bread baking. Late summer 2018, I stumbled upon a cookbook of old bread recipes at a garage sale, and instantly wanted to test out every recipe. Little did I know that embedded in my 25 cent cookbook was a section about creating a sourdough starter from scratch. Before reading this I had never heard of sourdough bread, but the recipe that book gave me was a bit wonky, and didn't produce the best loaves. After doing some research, I not only found the right way to make a sourdough starter, but I also became inspired by the community and environment surrounding sourdough baking. The more I bake sourdough bread, the more it fuels me to keep trying new recipes, flavor combinations, and specialty breads.
